Types of Swimming Pools We Build
Not every plot — or every budget — calls for the same kind of pool. Here's how to think about which type fits yours.
Infinity pools
An infinity pool uses a vanishing edge to create the illusion that the water meets the horizon or the landscape beyond it. It needs a plot with a usable view or drop-off to actually pay off visually, which makes it a natural fit for larger farmhouse properties around Panchkula and Zirakpur's outer belt more than a standard sector plot. It's also more structurally involved than a standard pool, with a catch basin and recirculation system built in — worth discussing early if you're drawn to the look.
Plunge pools
A plunge pool is a small, deep pool built for cooling off and relaxing rather than swimming laps — typically under 15 feet long. It's the right answer for a courtyard, terrace, or smaller garden where a full-size pool wouldn't fit, and it costs meaningfully less to build and maintain than a full-size pool. Increasingly common on rooftop and terrace installations across Mohali and Chandigarh's denser sectors.
Rooftop pools
Building on a rooftop or terrace is a structural question before it's a design one — the slab needs to be assessed and, in most cases, reinforced to carry the water load safely. Once that's confirmed, rooftop pools are one of the most space-efficient ways to add a pool to a compact urban plot, which is why we see the most demand for them in Chandigarh and Mohali's sector housing rather than the more spacious plots further out.
FRP (fibreglass) / readymade pools
An FRP pool is manufactured off-site as a single shell and installed in your plot, rather than built in place. That makes it faster to complete than an RCC pool — often weeks rather than months — and generally more affordable, though shape and size options are limited to what's manufactured. It's a strong option if timeline or budget matters more than a fully custom shape.
